Electric Daisy Carnival

is today! and Saturday!

WHY did they put Aly & Fila at 4-6pm? That's sort of a weird yet nice time, when the sun is starting to set but the energy levels are..unsure/in transition. And they play really euphoric trance, from the start til the end of their sets, no tech trance crap. I wonder how that'll go, and hope I get there in time and not miss their set.

So for Friday, my plans are:
ALY & FILA, ATB, and Evol Intent and the rest of the "Monsters of Jungle".
I hope they don't play jungle, though; I hate jungle. That better just be their name, they better play some cool jump-up drum'n'bass. I'll check out Fedde le Grand and Eddie Halliwell, too, haven't heard any of their stuff before. And maybe Shinichi Osawa and Subflo as well.

My Saturday plans:
Kyau & Albert, Cosmic Gate, Yoji/Kaskade, Sander van Doorn, Benny Benassi/The Crystal Method, MARKUS SCHULZ, and INFECTED MUSHROOM!
If they didn't have simultaneous set times, I would go see Subfocus and Andy C, too, since now I'm more into drum'n'bass than I was before.

USA 2 – 0 Spain

BLOEMFONTEIN, SOUTH AFRICA - JUNE 24: Clint Dempsey of the USA celebrates the second goal during the FIFA Confederations Cup Semi Final match between Spain and USA at Free State Stadium on June 24, 2009 in Bloemfontein, South Africa. (Photo by Christof Koepsel/Bongarts/Getty Images)
Effing goddamn I wish I had remembered and watched this match.
Finally something exciting and I missed it. And can't watch replay since I don't have espn360. =[

I caught some of the USA vs. Egypt game on Sunday, though, while having lunch at a nearby pizzeria.

booties

kaylee tankus–black peeptoe bootie

jeffrey campbell–palace bootie

I'm not much into fashion, really. But I've not been doing much these past few days, (because there's simply not much to do here at this time. I need another book to read, don't feel like watching TV series, and don't have a car) and have been passing the time shopping online.
Realised that I quite like dark shirts and the sort of sophisticated/casual style. Haha. and thought I that I should look into nice black shoes to wear with my APCs, since I don't have any type of those shoes: flats, booties, heels, whatever non-sneakers.

I would so buy these two pairs..if I had the money. arrghh money. x___x;;; Spent a lot this month already on furniture and last month on other stuff. Blah.
But too expensive for me, and final sale (30%off) so if they don't fit I won't be able to return it and I'm too lazy to sell stuff online. I usually hate/would not give a thought to buying shoes that are so low (at least in the front)/close to the ground. I want at least half an inch platform in the front part, too. But I really like how these two pairs look. Anyone know of places which sell similar shoes but at a more affordable price?

The Thermals:::The Body, The Blood, The Machine

The Thermals, from Portland, Oregon
Genre: Indie Rock, Post-Punk-Pop
Label: Subpop
Release Date: 22.Aug.2006
Rating: SEHR GUT.
8.5Pitchfork: Best New Album 2006

1. Here’s Your Future
2. I Might Need To Kill You
3. An Ear For Baby
4. A Pillar of Salt
5. Returning to the Fold
6. Test Pattern
7. St. Rosa and the Swallows
8. Back to the Sea
9. Power Doesn’t Run on Nothing
10. I Hold The Sound

"Portland, Oregon natives the Thermals have been hovering on the periphery since their 2003 debut, delivering solid records to undersized acclaim. The band's third album, The Body, The Blood, The Machine, conjures an America piloted by some sort of Christian-fascist regime. [..] The Body's story is just vague and gruesome enough to be weirdly terrifying, totally Orwellian, and grander, louder, and more electrifying than anything the Thermals have spit out before. [..] Foster's drums and Harris' weird vocal syntax (which contains echoes of the Mountain Goats' John Darnielle) are nicely propulsive, and The Body, The Blood, The Machine cuts off before it runs the risk of getting too repetitive. But the results of its 38 minutes are still chilling. Harris' imagined landscape is severe and grisly, leaving us all to sprint for cover, curling under desks, hands over heads, fingers crossed: These tracks land like bombs." —Pitchfork

cool trippy cell phone effect

The short message: Don't text me.

More:
My cell phone screen has been on a month-long acid trip and shows no sign of coming down.
My plans are to stick with this ultra-thin phone that you all are jealous of and to wait til the end of my at&t contract, which happens to be in half a year, so I can snag a new iPhone3Gs for not so high a price.
So for the time being, you should understand that should you text me, you may not receive a text back from me, because I may not even be able to read your message first of all. Thank you for your time.

[Samsung U600 aka Ultra Edition 10.9—10.9 for 10.9 mm thin]

iPhone Upgrade
As a valued AT&T customer, we can offer you a discounted iPhone upgrade at a higher price, along with a 2-year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee. Please proceed with the online upgrade process for pricing details. You may qualify for a full discount on a standard iPhone upgrade on 12/07/2009

The Liquid Lounge

I found a German forum with promotional drum'n'bass mixes.
The kind of dnb I really really like: "liquid, deep, soulful dnb".
Or I just like to call it "chill dnb". It's not the only type of dnb I like, though; the rock-ish type if dnb is good, too, like Pendulum, but I don't like jungle. If it weren't for jungle turning me off to dnb a few years ago, I would have been into dnb much earlier.

University Entrance Exams

Be glad we only have the easy-peasy SATs and ACTs here in America and not the super-hard college entrance exams that kids in China and Japan have to take. Exam cram school, studying 14-16 hours a day for a whole year. Way too extreme.

I moved into my new living room on Saturday. Got nice furniture from Ikea. Scandinavian design FTW! I'm on Genesee Ave. by Regents Rd. in La Jolla. Pictures to come when I convince myself to not be lazy and to upload pictures.

Rockets in a Coma – Psycholover

Watch in HD.
But not good to listen to it too much, the vocals/verse gets annoying. Probably just her accent though. They're from Greece, in case you're wondering what's up with those seemingly unintelligible YT comments.

HELLA PWNED MY FINALS YESTERDAY,
then spun for a couple hours at Beer, Beats, and Board Games (BBB) @Porter's Pub on campus.
And realised that breaks does get kinda boring, well also because I only had two breaks cds. But yeah, not going to get very into breaks. Spun breaks for an hour then switched to trance.
Drum'n'bass is up next!
