GIVE THANKS!!! **note—sort of blog/ranting +BEAT UNIVERITY@ SUPPER CLUB, SF

holy crap am I so excited to go to another rave.
I just listened to Armin van Buuren's episode 378 of his weekly radio show 'A State of Trance' 2-hr mix the whole way through. OMG such a great episode. And then I go online and tune into AH.fm and that's playing quite a good mix right now, too. Right when I tuned in it was playing Oceanlab (Above & Beyond) - Breaking Ties (some remix). ZOMG, the above & beyond analogue heaven remix of that track is my favourite tune right now. It's HUGE.
Now some of my serotonin has been releasing and I feel sort of energetic, though it's 3:30am right now. Yeee~

Holy crap do you see that trance line-up??
zahhhs!
omg am I quite the trance-addict.
Today I woke up around noon. And there's nothing to on campus or off-campus here, so I sat diligently at my desk and read stuff for class most of the day. Like til 11. Then I walked around listening to asot378. And now I feel really awake. Haha who needs to pop ecstasy when there's obscenely orgasmic trance? Definitely not me! lollls I sound so lame.

Oh man I'm almost on a trance high right now. And I should be sleeping so I can wake up and have breakfast in time for church tomorrow. But I also want to do some econ homework. Haha.

Oh yeah, about the rave:
I guess this Craneway Pavilion in Richmond got renovated or something, and a number of raves already booked the venue. It's right next to the water, from the pics it looks pretty nice.
And this is Midnite Event's 3rd Thanksgiving Rave. The first one was 'Be Thankful' followed by 'Be Thankful 2'. But it was at the Regency Center in SF last year, and I wasn't 18 yet, so I did not attend. I think Solarstone headlined.

But:
COSMIC GATE (Black Hole Recordings, Germany)
SEAN TYAS (Armada / Discover, Switzerland)
SUPER8 & TAB (Anjunabeats, Finland)
DEEP VOICES Dyloot (Skills, San Francisco)

Aaaah!!! *_____*
And the rest of the lineup though I don't listen to those genres should be quite good as well.

Who wants to go with me??
=D

edittt

Holy crap this sucks I am going to miss Beat University. I don't care much about the DJs/line-up, the non-profit this is cool, but... it's...
At the SUPPERCLUB. Dannnng does that place look hot or what. I've read an article about that place in a magazine or somewhere some time ago when it first opened, but it was mainly a restaurant review, about always different kinds of food, and lounging on the beds(???!) Here's a review I just found: SFstation.

Okay I'm done for tonight. Ahah it's 4am now. But tonight, both my roommates are still up. xD

I saw Bloc Party at Live105's BFD in 2007. But they played last, and Social Distortion played before them, and played too many darn songs, so they only got to play like 5 songs or something. Mehh, social d. xP

WISHLIST! + more morford.

2 CDJ's. (Pioneer)
—ebay CDJ-1000, 2 CDJ-800MK2+mixer !dyahh $$$!
Mixer (Vestax or Pioneer)

Summer2009: Study abroad in Sweden

DSLR! (digital manual camera) Canon Rebel or Nikon? Panasonic Lumix is alright, not so heavy.

expensive.. Ich brache Gelt. =[

On another note, Morford's writing is still ++++.
You might disagree. You might say, hey wait a minute, not all American cars are as dreadful and ill-equipped as Sarah Palin at a science fair.
Detroit must die
American cars are still uniformly god-awful. Why save them?

Get on with it, America. Clean Diesel.
Stuff like this makes me want to go to Europe even more.

The 65 mpg Ford the U.S. Can't Have
Ford's Fiesta ECOnetic gets an astonishing 65 mpg, but the carmaker can't afford to sell it in the U.S.

Back to Morford:
oh my God don't you know this here life is a veritable liquid madhouse of unhappiness? A giant smoldering smoothie of misery and angst and vague feelings of inadequacy and spiritual barrenness? It's the American way.
Misery loves TV
Unhappy people watch lots more toob. But it doesn't stop there.

Happy people usually only want a long walk, some sunshine, maybe a margarita and a good book and messy oral sex every hour or two. That's easy. It's unhappy people who really drive the economy. Unhappy people make capitalism go. This is why we like to create so many of them.
As liberal as Mark Morford is, I still love his writing. He speaketh the truth.

Fresh new trance! =D
I should totally mix these tracks. But, haha, I need blank cds. lol. I'll go buy some when I go home for Thanksgiving. But almost all these tracks are pretty uplifting, climactic, beautiful.
So yeah, until I mix with my own cds, just download and enjoy!

Okay, I'm getting behind on my blogging.

But today, after 2 DJing lessons, I practiced mixing. =D
Like a straight mix, but of course not so much focus on track selection. I screwed up a couple times, but yeah, was told it was pretty good, just need to practice practice practice. =) I just used a couple cds from the guy who's teaching me. I must say I love CDJ's, as cooler as vinyl is, CDJ's show the BPM of the track that's playing. And wow how much easier that is. Vinyl—awesome, the original way, but expensive. 11.99$ for a record, like a track and a remix, or maybe a track or 2 or 3. There's a box of vinyl in the DJ club office, but I don't know a lot of those records and it would take so long trying to find two records of close BPM to mix with.
Ahh, mp3s and CDJ's.

Added to my wishlist:
2 CDJ's and a mixer.

So the guy who's teaching me told me I should start downloading hella (okay he didn't say 'hella', he's from socal) trance singles, and linked me to a couple sites.
and zomg. Soon, my still quite new macbook will be full of trance. Hahaha =D

Anyways, I just downoaded 900mbs of trance singles. I will sample them, select a track and maybe a remix from each single, rar/zip it, and upload it here so ya'll can chill to some fresh trance. Aight?

Alright yeah since I'm behind on my blogging, or at least I feel like it, (I've been trying to study/read more/ahead in homework, and leave online time for past-midnight), I'm gonna draft up a list of blogposts so I won't get lazy on this.

Next up:
silversun pickups, wild sweet oranges, smashing pumpkins, bloc party,
haven't been on ongoingmelody for a while, so no new asianpop, though I want to post ELLEGARDEN's discography.

auf wiedersehen! jaa mata!

historic day

Obama totally won the electoral votes: 338 of the needed 270, while McCain only got 129. I just watched a bit of McCain's concession speech on CNN. Yeee Obama. Helgeln Sie und Glückwünsche zu unsere neuen Präsident! Don't screw us up, though. That's why I don't own any Obama shirts. Counting's still going to be going on for a while, we'll see how close the popular votes turn out. Plus all the sehr wichtige California props.

I'll leave you with this photo taken earlier today, while I return to writing and revising my CAT (culture, art & technology) paper. Zurück zu Musik morgen!

Obama wins the election

The Bravery:: The Sun and The Moon (Complete!)

The Bravery myspace
The Sun and the Moon—Complete

Release date: 18.03.2008
Label: Island
Genre: Alternative
Rating: VERY VERY GOOD!!!/my new favourite!

CD1:The Sun//CD2:The Moon

1. Intro
2. Believe
3. This Is Not the End
4. Every Word Is a Knife in My Ear
5. Bad Sun
6. Time Won't Let Me Go
7. Tragedy Bound
8. Fistful of Sand
9. Angelina
10. Split Me Wide Open ★★★★★ my new favourite track
11. Above and Below
12. The Ocean

The first disc has the version of 'Believe' and 'Time Won't Let Me Go' that you've heard on the radio. The second disc, The Moon, as I've skimmed over in the amazon reviews is the lead singer and songwriter's versions. Same lyrics and tracks on The Moon, but they're sort of electronic-y, with the addition of bass-synths. Really, you need to listen to both albums. So good (I've listened to it on repeat like 3 times already). Highly recommended, GET THIS ALBUM!
