Maya Lin

Maya Lin's "Storm King Wavefield" on permanent installation at the Storm King Art Center in NY. She's the artist who won the commission for the Vietnam War Memorial in DC. She's also the one who made that hill out of small wooden rectangular blocks which went on exhibit at the De Young in SF a while ago. I did not get to see that exhibit, but some people who've seen it were definitely like "pshht 'art'". I wrote a paper about that wooden hill, actually. Well, just as an example. What constitutes "good" art, real vs nature, stuff like that. That was an interesting Culture, Art, & Technology class. The CAT class I'm in now is pretty boring, or at least not interesting to me. Eugenics, medical stuff, maybe some ethical issues, whee.
